Logo Tagline Name

I've been cracking my brains trying to come up with Names, design and logos... Man... I don't seem to have a very creative mind and everytime you're suppose to come up with one, its always zilch.... ! Like ... "What's your favourite hang out place" or "So which pubs do you like" It's always .. Err rr rr RR rrr..... I don't know, I cant remember" but when you're out of that moment its like "Gin Palace, The Workshop, MOO, Canary Club" So annoying!!

PLUS I've been learning Joomla... and I was doing very well until I had to configure it to match a certain design.... and my brain stopped working again and now I have to throw it back to the web designer to do it and then I'll learn from his programming...

But anyways didja know that alot of these logos have their hidden meanings? It's weird that its hidden because... what is it for if the public don't know what the logos are suppose to portray!! So that the executives in the company can look at it and go "WOW what a great logo we have, it conveys exactly what we wanna show to the rest of the world"... Geez. What a thrill !!

I've to run to work now so here's two!

The arrow shows that Amazon has everything from A - Z and it also portrays the smile it is suppose to bring to the customer's face.

Have you noticed the hidden arrow between E and X ? It part of the company's positioning of speed and precision.

The next two is just a cool play with words and images.

See how the logo is read SUN in any direction

And the word eight made from the play of figure 8

DAMN.. why can't I come up with logos like this!!

Luuuurve .... makes the world goes round

But let there be spaces in your togetherness
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you

Love one another, but make not a bond of love;
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your soul;
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup;
Give one another of your bread but not from the same loaf;
SIng and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone;
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping;For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts;
And stand together yet not too near together;
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and cypress grow not in each other's shadows

- from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran

But I got this extract from Scott Peck's The Road Less Travelled.... hmm makes sense but yet if you're so far apart how can two be together?

Well I'm not one to say =D

Pizza!

Chocolate Pizza... Apple Pizza... Banana Pizza ... oohhh... what about chocolate and bananas together...... that sounds like the nutella and banana crepes I was so tempted to have the other day down at A|X.... I settled for omelette on toast instead.. HOW BORING i know... but anyways back to the topic..... pizzas... chocolate and bananas, I never thought of that, maybe I should go back and try that sometime. Order the two and mash it together like a sandwich! Wow.... maybe not... it is abit gross isnt it.

What about Caesar Pizza -  My favooorite, Ingredients of a caesar salad on a crunchy pizza base ... *slurp*  The pizzas are a bit different from the usual that you ger from Dominos or the local pizza store. Not of the Hawaiian or Aussie or chicken, more like pesto with goats cheese, or spice lamb, pinenuts, sultanas and rocket or tuna, olives, beans, anchovies and lettuce or bacon, anchovies, cos lettuce, cheese and egg (ooppps I already mentioned that one). Full menu at bimbodeluxe.com.au

Tastes even better when it's only $4. Yup $4 for a whole pizza... Its a single person pizza but hey... where can you get a full balanced meal (carbo, meat, veges, eggs - ooopss I'm talking about my caesar pizza) for $4!

All pizzas are $4 on Monday - Thursday from 12pm - 4pm or Thursday - Sunday from 7pm (I hope my memory is good, if not please excuse my error).

On the bar they have like all the infused wodkas, beers and many many types of different drinks.... Bimbo actually turns into a pub at night. Looks more like a pub from one of the alleyways in Melbourne, but hey it's on Brunswick Street!

Cheap eats Melbourne!!

How to survive on $10 a day in Melbourne? Easy! $4 for pizza $0 for water, do it twice a day! =D =D

Quack Quack

Duck ! Yummy !

I've heard of this place for ages and have never gotten around to trying it, so one day when in the Ripponlea Estate, 'Old Kingdom' popped into my head - well maybe cos there was alot of ducks around - and we thought we'll go give it a shot. It was 2 pm, booking was at 6! Man it was a long wait!

We arrived a little after 6, and the chef comes out with this duck with its head still intact, places it on the table and proceeds to wring the head of the duck! Like literally twisted the neck to seperate it. Well then he carved the duck right there and taught us how to wrap it up with the bread, cucumber and spring onion.

Wasn't too bad, the duck wasn't too oily as that of Li Garden in Kuching. You don't see the oil dripping out!

1st Course - Peking Duck
2nd Course - Duck meat with Vegetable served with rice
3rd Course - Duck Soup

$50 for three course, it's worth the price!

Giddy Up !!

So today was the Melbourne Cup - one of the biggest racing events internationally. Well its not just a race day but also a big social event for everyone to dress up - there's even a fashion award within the cup with a prize pool of $350,000 - get drunk and bet on horses.

It's apparently the place to be - Diana Ross was here to perform for the chairman's dinner. Paris Hilton has graced the event before. Hmmm... can't remember who else.. don't really care.

Everyone gets dress up way early in the morning no matter what the weather (today was wet and cold) in summer dresses and suits - gets to the races and comes back drunk and barefooted usually =P Lots of hats, lots of suits, lots of dresses, ALOT of drinks and bets!

Its kinda sad to see everyone paying so much money for the dresses, the suits, the tickets, the bets and then see the "aftermath". I was walking out of the house on Sat - it was Derby day - and there were guys drunk sitting on the road, some walking around barely able to stand, girls literally being carried. I mean why pay sooo much to get smashed. Before the show, everyone just looks fabulous and after that its just such an ugly sight! Walking in a zig-zagging line, makeup all smudged, red in the face, carrying your heels and slurring ... man!! Ok maybe a few of them walk out perfectly sober but its still sad - especially if you remember nothing of the day the next day!

Anyways so why pay a couple hundred bucks when my balcony overlooks the racecourse. 2 minutes before the race I went up there to try catch a glimpse. The track is probably less 50m aways but the grandstand is way over on the opposite end so when the horses were released (I only was aware when the neighbours started cheering), I was still asking "where where" and the horses had to be pointed out. Damn blur right.

Well bookies should be happy today - both favourites Tawqeet and Yeats did not even come close to winning... instead Delta Blues (odds of 12.5), a Japanese trained and rode horse won the 5.1 million cup!! And he beat Pop Rock (same trainer) by barely half a nose! It was close!!

Hahha yes I know, there more then just ONE race the whole day but the cup is called Melbourne Cup for a reason.

Another race on Thursday - Oaks Day but not in this racecourse.

 The view from the top

 Here they come !

 Leading the pack

 The rest of em

 The end view =D
